Green Shares is committed to unlock the income potential of smallholder farmers it works with.
Through a partnership with Spark Agro Initiatives Africa, last December, 2020; our farmer
leaders were trained in banana farming, poultry and piggery enterprises under the Train of
Trainers (TOT) program. Though the farmers are already undertaking soy bean and maize as
commercial value chains; enhancing production and productivity in other enterprises will have a
number of benefits to the farmers.
Integrated arming systems enable smallholder farmers have Continuous Income Round the
Year, it also enhances production and profitability as the waste material or by-product of one
enterprise as an input into other farming enterprise among others.
The Train of Trainers (TOT)program will see over 1000 farmers in Luwero and Nakaseke
districts trained in Integrated farming systems by end of 2021.
